WHAT TOP CREATORS KNOW

Social platforms are pulling ahead in both attention and ad spend. Here's what matters for your business:

  • Audiences prefer creators. Younger buyers spend more time with creator content than TV and movies and trust it more.
  • Social content drives sales. Over half of Gen Z and millennials say creators influence what they buy and watch.
  • Personal connection wins. Authentic, relatable content keeps people engaged and ready to take action.

The line between content and commerce is blurring. If you're showing up where your audience scrolls and making it easy to buy, you're already ahead.

HERO HIGHLIGHT

Josh Lavine is a recognized expert in the Enneagram personality system, host of the podcast What It's Like to Be You, and CEO and Co-Founder of The Enneagram School, which teaches the Enneagram to seekers, professionals, and teams seeking greater self-awareness and effectiveness. Josh also coaches executives at leading mission-driven startups and venture capital firms since 2019.

Josh's advice for creators:

"Just start. Don't overcommit to publishing 3 blogs a week up front. Experiment and see what feels natural. I started with blogs and hated it. It takes me too long to write, I'm too perfectionistic, and the psychological weight of that commitment made me stall. It wasn't until I figured out what I "naturally" do -- talk to people & ask questions about their inner experience -- that my podcast was born. But I wouldn't have discovered that if I hadn't already begun, run into a wall, and asked myself... what could I do instead? So just start. You'll figure it out as you go. "

THE RISE OF CREATOR COMMERCE

Our 2025 State of Creator Commerce report is here. It highlights how creators are moving beyond social platforms and building businesses they fully own.

  • Entrepreneurial Creators earn more. They  make 25% more than Social-First Creators, and 200% more on Kajabi.

  • Owned revenue is growing. Sales from digital products, memberships, and downloads are up. Platform payouts and brand deals are down.

  • Audience ownership is key. Email lists and communities give creators more control, stability, and recurring income.
